WELCOME TO MAPLEWOOD

Marigold Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics is a brand new, state-of-the-art dental office located in Maplewood, NJ.  Dr. Nicolas Freda (Dr. Nick) and Dr. Elena Ciciolla (Dr. C) used their experience working with advanced dental technology to create a forward-thinking practice that delivers outstanding care in a comfortable and safe environment.

Great care was taken to design the office as a bright, open, and inviting space. It feels more like a dental home than a dental office. On the orthodontics side, there are no more goopy impressions. Now they use a virtual scan of your teeth and a 3D printer. This 3D technology allows for individualized treatment plans whether they are using braces, Invisalign, or lingual appliances.

No two patients receive exactly the same treatment because no two smiles are the same.  On the pediatric dental side, the office has low dose x-ray units and techniques for kids who may struggle with intra-oral x-rays. Also, you’ll notice TV’s above every chair, so kids can relax and enjoy their favorite show during their visit.

Dr. Ciciolla also offers minimally invasive treatment options for young kids or those who are apprehensive at the dentist. These techniques are safe, atraumatic, and will strengthen your child’s confidence when visiting the dentist.  At Marigold Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics (PDO), patients and parents can feel confident that their smiles are in good hands.

Dr. Nick and Dr. C are both educators, teaching at NYU College of Dentistry and New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, respectively.  This pushes them to expose themselves to the latest and most innovate treatment options. They use this knowledge to offer the very best dental care to their community.

DR. CICIOLLA & DR. FREDA

Dr. Ciciolla received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. She moved north and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.  Dr. Ciciolla continued her education in a two-year general practice residency with New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital (NYPBMH) where she served as chief resident.

Directly thereafter, Dr. Ciciolla obtained her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry with NYU Langone, where she also served as chief resident during her final year of residency.

In addition to working at Marigold PDO, Dr. Ciciolla remains on staff as a part time faculty member with NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Dr. Nicolas Freda received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. From there, he went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Tufts University, in Boston, Massachusetts. It is here that Dr. Nick discovered his passion for teaching, research, and his enthusiasm about providing care for patients of every age.

After graduating from Tufts University, Dr. Nick continued his academic career at the New York University College of Dentistry and earned his certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Nick continues to be a part time faculty member at NYU College of Dentistry Orthodontic Department.

Dr. Nick also finds time to lecture for Henry Schein Orthodontics in both academic settings and smaller regional meetings. These discussions and presentations are focused on educating other orthodontists and dentists on how to provide excellent patient care.
